OTTAWA – New Democrats slammed the Conservatives today for making it harder for Canadian families to reunite with their parents and grandparents abroad.

OTTAWA — The federal NDP Caucus elected Mylène Freeman (Argenteuil–Papineau–Mirabel) as chair and Sadia Groguhé (Saint-Lambert) as vice-chair of the NDP Women’s Caucus.
“In 2011, Canadians chose to elect a record number of women to the House of Commons, most of whom are New Democrats. Women are better represented now in Parliament than they ever were, but we still have a lot of work to do before achieving real equality in our institutions,” said Freeman.

OTTAWA - Conservative mismanagement of the temporary foreign workers program is putting Canadian jobs at risk. To protect Canadian jobs, New Democrats are calling for an urgent overhaul of the program.
"The Conservatives keep feigning outrage, but they created the loopholes that allow companies to abuse the Temporary Foreign Worker Program and displace Canadian workers," said NDP Immigration and Citizenship Critic Jinny Sims. "Canadians want to see immediate action to save their jobs."
